A day which started wet soon turned dry but overcast for Little
Chart’s visit to Selling. Hopes for revenge for the drubbing served up at Little Chart the previous week were dashed, despite posting 164 as the Chart batted first. Graham Foote starred, opening and not out until three overs before the end of Chart’s innings, scoring 39. Lusty blows by Craig Taylor and Dave Edwards added to the opening partnership which was not broken until the 17th over.
Little Chart’s fielding needed some improvement, as the ball nutmegged fielders on several occasions, and catches, some of them sharp chances, were not held. Harrison Pack led the bowling with three wickets, but the only other wicket to fall was to Roger Pinnock. The home side reached their target with six wickets and ten overs to spare, and so to the pub. A good day was had by all.
